I grew up listening to Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe and Jerry Herman, but also to James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and the Beatles. In my musicals, I try to bring together both worlds. Sometimes I collaborate with other writers, and sometimes I work alone.

My current projects include Snow, for which I wrote book, music and lyrics, and Love And Real Estate, which I am writing with composer Sam Davis. In the recent past, I wrote Cupid and Psyche with composer Jihwan Kim, and Number The Stars, based on Lois Lowry’s Newbury Award winning novel. I’ve also written several musicals for children.

I am currently the Director of the Theater Wing at the Kaufman Center in New York City. The Center is a creative home for musicians, writers and audiences, and I have provided some links here, if you want to find out more about it.

You can hear some samples of my work on this site, and if you want to hear more, please contact me directly, or my agent, Sarah Douglas. Thanks for stopping by.
